President, University of Hawai‘i
David Lassner has served as President of the University of Hawaii System since September, 2013. Prior to that he served as Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) with statewide IT responsibility for all public higher education in Hawaii. A PTC participant since the 1980s, Lassner served on and chaired the PTC Board of Governors. He has played an active leadership roles in numerous ICT organizations including: chairing the Hawaii Broadband Task Force, leading education initiatives for the Internet Society, and serving on the Board of Directors of Internet2. Lassner holds university degrees in Economics, Computer Science, and Communication & Information Sciences.
